What is the difference between Biome 1st and 2nd Edition?

For the first print run (after the Kickstarter in 2024), we produced a base and deluxe edition of Biome. We have limited copies remaining of the Deluxe Kickstarter edition, which has an exclusive fox starting player meeple. The first edition base game is sold out and will not be reprinted.

In 2025 we released the 2nd edition, where we updated some of the art and cards and fixed any typos. The components are essentially a mix of the base and deluxe editions from the first print run. The 2nd edition includes the deluxe pulp storage trays, but is missing the Bountiful Biome mini expansion and point tracker animal meeples which can be purchased separately in the “deluxe upgrade pack.” All editions include the straw nests and wooden components made with FSC materials.

How do you manufacture your games?

We are dedicated to minimizing our impact on the planet. Besides the outer shrink wrap to protect game components from humidity and damage during shipping, FaeKin contains no plastic and Biome only contains one small plastic piece out of hundreds of components. FaeKin was manufactured in the US and all paper and wood components for ALL our games are made using FSC materials.

The next print run of FaeKin, produced in Poland, contains 0 plastic. The shrink wrap is made from 100% compostable material.

Are you taking submissions from other game designers?

As much as I wish I could say yes, I currently don't have the bandwidth for any additional titles. Feel free to reach out again Q1 of 2027. I hope to take on more games in the future. :)
